Recycling

Recycling Guide

Southeast Community Organization is a community of people who recycle.

Curbside or alley pick up every WEDNESDAY morning makes it easy for you to recycle too! Items do not need to be sorted. You can recycle paper and cardboard, pizza boxes, cartons, bottles and cans — including glass, aluminum, plastic bottles and containers, and paper milk and juice cartons.

You can recycle a variety of plastics but NOT styrofoam, black plastic, plastic film (bags), or any #3 or #6 plastic. Plastic bags can be returned to grocery and Target stores. Better yet: bring a reusable bag with you.

Learn more about what you can and cannot recycle on the City's website here

All households received a 64-gallon cart at the start of the program. If you would like to try a smaller (32-gallon) or larger (95-gallon) cart you may request a switch by calling Eureka Recycling at 651-222-7678. One change will be allowed at no charge.

Renters:  SouthEast Community Organization has free recycling bags for tenants in apartments. Interested in getting one? Stop by our office to pick one up at the Sun Ray Shopping Center.  Please call or email to make sure we are open.

Reserve recycling containers for your events!

Residents can check-out portable containers for recycling plastic and glass or organics at our office. Complete this form for your request. Please allow us 48 business hours to respond. If you do not hear from our office, please call or email. We recommend at least a weeks advance notice for pick-up, but can be flexible.

The Come Clean Program!

The Come Clean! Program offers multiple ways to get involved. You supply the time, energy and enthusiasm and we will supply the trash bags, gloves and many, many thanks. Businesses and individuals who Adopt-a-Block can request a window cling or lawn sign in recognition of their efforts.

The City of Saint Paul is limited in activities this year due to the pandemic. If you would like to hold your own project, please complete the ComeClean Application form.

  • The City cannot accommodate Adopt-A-Container requests at this time.

  • The City can assist with one-time litter events on a case-by-case basis.

  • The City can supply bags for organizers to order and pick up at our Public Works Maintenance Facility.

  • The City can pick up of full bags after your event. Please place bags in your garbage cart for proper disposal.

To help address the ongoing problem of trash and litter in our community, the city is encouraging community members to help clean, beautify and improve their neighborhoods. Read more about projects you can lead on the City's website.

Please contact the Come Clean! Coordinator at (651) 266-6130.
